JARPAC was established in 1974 in Melbourne by its previous Principal Director, Reg McKay, as an importer and retailer in the apparel industry. With the introduction of a retail outlet in Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise the following year, recognition and growth was swift. This lead to the opening of national chain store accounts and an extension into Singapore in 1976. Entry into the US came in 1978.

Over the next three decades, the company diversified its interests into other fields. 1996 saw the development of specially fitted-out unmarked mini buses designed to accommodate VIP travel for the corporate, airline and shipping industries. This concept proved exceptionally popular within the industry and led to government and maritime contracts.

In 2002, JARPAC were engaged by Patricks to service the ground transport requirements of visiting US warships into the Port of Sydney and are still providing that service to this day.

From its initial involvement with Sydney, the company has expanded its operations to all major Australian ports. A number of regional ports are also included. Additionally, the company now not only caters for the US Navy, but for the Navy's of a number of countries as well.
